Led by senior guard Christian Vital's game-high 23 points, the UConn men's basketball team improved to 9-3 on the 2019-20 season with Sunday's 69-47 win over NJIT.
Before the home crowd of 10,507 at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, Vital went 8 for 15 from the field -- making 5 of 8 three-point tries -- while grabbings five rebounds and four steals.
After the game, Vital and head coach Dan Hurley put UConn's third straight victory into perspective as the calendar flips to 2020 with Wednesday's 7 p.m. contest at Cincinnati (7-5).
