A towering shot to center field, Alonso sat on a 3-0 fastball from Rockies starter Tim Melville and launched it to center field, moving ahead of Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez for the National League lead in home runs.
Earlier in the inning, Amed Rosario got the Mets on the board with a two-run shot, and two batters later, Brandon Nimmo smacked his second home run in as many nights.
