Jeff McNeil gave the Mets a 3-1 lead with a third-inning home run to right field against the Pirates on Friday. The homer was McNeil's 10th of the season.
Though he's cooled off a bit on July, McNeil is still putting together a fantastic season, compiling a slash line of .341/.402/.507 coming into Friday's action.
Todd Frazier added to the Mets lead with a home run of his own, a solo shot to right-center, to give the Mets a 4-1 lead in the fifth. Frazier now has extra-base hits and an RBI in back-to-back-games.
