Daniel Jones lived up to the hype in his first career start, running for a pair of seven-yard touchdowns -- including the game-winner scramble with 1:16 left -- Sunday during the Giants' 32-31 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

At the end of the Giants' eight play, 75-yard drive -- which started with 3:16 left in the fourth quarter -- Jones dropped back on a fourth-and-five pass.

As the middle of the field opened up, Jones tucked the ball and ran seven yards untouched, across the goal line and into the end zone for the Giants' first lead all game.

The Giants' Week 3 matchup against the Buccaneers got underway at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, with Jones in control early on.

After the rookie quarterback led the offense to an 11-play, 57-yard opening drive with kicker Aldrick Rosas' 36-yard field goal with 4:11 left in the first quarter, Jones made sure his next possession went for six.

To cap the Giants' 12-play, 70-yard drive with 10:06 left in the second quarter, he used misdirection out of the shotgun with running back Saquon Barkley's zone read left and Jones zipped right past two Tampa Bay defenders on the keep for the seven-yard touchdown run.

The Giants' No. 6 overall pick from the 2019 NFL draft in April, Jones has started strong.

Through 12 drives, Jones completed 23 of 36 passes (63.9 percent) for 336 yards and two touchdowns to no interceptions.

Jones attempted four rushes for 28 yards -- including the couple of red-zone scampers -- as the Giants broke out with 384 total yards.
