The University of Connecticut women's basketball team's 2018-19 schedule -- featuring 14 non-league games and 16 American Athletic Conference contests -- is out.
The Huskies, who will return three starters from last season's 36-1 club that advanced to the NCAA Final Four for a record 11th consecutive year, will face nine teams that played in the NCAA tournament, including national champion Notre Dame, Final Four participant Louisville, Elite Eight representative and 2017 national champion South Carolina, and AAC rival South Florida.
Six games will be played at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs with five -- including South Carolina -- being played at the XL Center in Hartford. Vanderbilt will face UConn at Mohegan Sun Arena.
There will be two first-time opponents: Mississippi in the first round of the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Nov. 22, and Saint Louis on Dec. 4, which will be a homecoming game for St. Charles, Missouri, native Napheesa Collier.
UConn, which is 101-0 in AAC play, will open its league schedule on Jan. 6 at Houston. It will make its first trip to Wichita State on Feb. 26. The Shockers joined the AAC for the 2017-18 season.
Senior Day will be March 2 when Houston comes to Gampel Pavilion. If tradition holds, seniors Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson will have their names and numbers placed in the Huskies of Honor in a pregame ceremony. The regular season finale is March 4 at South Florida.
The AAC tournament will be played March 8-11 at Mohegan Sun Arena.
SNY will broadcast 15 games including the Senior Day matchup with Houston, a key AAC contest at Central Florida on Feb. 17, and non-league games against Vanderbilt on Nov. 17, DePaul on Nov. 28, and Seton Hall on Dec. 8. The Huskies will compete on ESPN or ESPN2 seven times.
