Though MLB players and coaches are allowed to return to their home cities if they so choose, many have found it easier to stay at their spring training facilities, including a few Yankees.

Tyler Wade is one of those who has stayed in Tampa to participate in the very limited activities teams are allowed to do under MLB's guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus. And he spoke to reporters on Friday about how that adjustment has been going.

Wade told The Post's George A. King III that he believes Tampa is "the safest place to be." The Yankees still have access to the gym and training facilities, but they're not allowed to have any organized group workouts, whether it is formal or informal.

But that doesn't mean Wade is completely away from his teammates. He told MLB.com's Bryan Hoch that the team can't be in the gym with more than three people at a clip, but it has given Wade a chance to really focus on how players like DJ LeMahieu work.

"It's crazy how routine-oriented and professional this guy is," Wade said.

LeMahieu's reasoning for staying in Tampa mirrors Wade's -- he said the work is keeping him "sane."

Wade has also had a chance to watch Aaron Judge work his way back from injury, saying "he looks great."

Every player wants to remain active and prepare as best he can for when the season ramps up again. When that will be remains up in the air, but Wade won't be heading home anytime soon. And he isn't alone.
