The Yankees made a few moves before the trade deadline, getting the pitching support they needed for the second half. However, in doing so, a few player casualties had to follow.
One of them was 1B Tyler Austin, who was traded to the Twins in a deal for RHP Lance Lynn. And it appears Austin's father, Chris, is still bitter that Austin was dealt away from the Yankees.
Chris Austin has tweeted a couple shots at the Yankees' current first baseman, Greg Bird, who has struggled all season. However, the Yankees have stayed committed to Bird this year, and Chris clearly takes exception to it.

The elder Austin is stating facts in both tweets directed at Bird. Since being called up, Austin has produced 10 hits in eight games with the Twins, while Bird has nine over 16 games with the Yankees in August.
Chris does say his son has 18 homers on the season, but that included minor-league games at the time as well. In the Majors, Austin and Bird are tied with 11 on the year.
In those eight games, Austin owns a .370/.400/.741 slash line with three homers and six RBI. Bird, on the other hand, is hitting .148/.235/.295 with two homers and eight RBI over 61 at-bats.
