Each week on The Cookie Club presented by Insomnia Cookies, Dominic Smith, J.D. Davis and Steve Gelbs have some fun talking baseball, but now there's something even more important at stake.
In each of the last four episodes, the crew has participated in a segment called the Fortune Cookie, where Smith and Davis are typically asked to give an over/under prediction on a chosen event.
But this week on Episode 7, things got real as the Mets' duo decided on a punishment for the loser in the final Fortune Cookie standings, and, well, let's just hope both players are okay with showing their legs.
"You know what? I think it would be fitting to either pick a game or pick a spring training batting practice before a game, like BP," said Davis. "Maybe wear a pink little tutu during batting practice."
Smith showed some initial hesitation toward the idea, but thought of Davis in his finest tutu was just too-too good to give up.
"You've still got to get that approved. All the dudes will think that's crazy," said Smith. "Now I'm nervous. You're talking about me running around in battling practice with a pink tutu on. Now I'm over here sweating pretty badly.
"I would definitely love to see those wide hips in a pink tutu. I really would."
"Give the people what they want," Davis replied.
At that point, Gelbs tried to jump in, but it was too late.
"This thing has jumped the shark very quickly," Gelbs said. "We are off the rails on The Cookie Club."
Davis currently leads in the standings 2-1, and this week's over/under involved the number of tweets sent from the Mets' official Twitter account. Last week, @Mets tweeted 57 times, so this week the over/under was set at 56.5. Smith took the under, and Davis took the over.
All in all, it was quite the ballet of emotions during this week's episode.
