The Yankees recently elected not to extend a qualifying offer to Didi Gregorius, and now suitors are starting to line up for the shortstop's services.

According to MLB Network's Jon Heyman, the Cincinnati Reds have interest in the 29-year-old. The Reds signed Gregorius as an amateur free agent back in 2007, and he made his MLB debut for the team in 2012.

SNY's Andy Martino has previously mentioned the Reds and the Brewers among the teams who could be in the mix for the left-handed-hitting shortstop.

Gregorius said after the ALCS that he would like to remain a Yankee, and the team still respects his ability as a leader and expects him to bounce back fully from last year's Tommy John surgery, per Martino.

Gregorius had the tough task of replacing Yankees legend Derek Jeter following Jeter's retirement at the end of the 2014 season, but the Netherlands native proved up to the task. In five seasons as a Yankee, Gregorius has hit 97 home runs and driven in 360 runners, and he even received some MVP votes in 2017 and 2018.

The Yankees, of course, have some other intriguing internal options at the position, as both Gleyber Torres and Gio Urshela could fill in full-time in that spot. The Yankees could also be aggressive on the trade and free agency front, if Gregorius is not brought back.
