Odell Beckham Jr. did not return to Giants practice on Wednesday, but coach Pat Shurmur said the team is still not considering shutting him down for the final two games of the season.

"No," Shurmur told reporters. "At this point, I think it's a player's responsibility to do everything they can to get on the field and get back into games. We're coaches and players, and we play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, so it's important that we do everything we can to show up."

Beckham has missed the last two games with the injury, which he suffered after Eagles linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill tripped him on the final play of the Giants' Week 12 loss. The 26-year-old Beckham played the following week against the Bears before beginning rehab.

Shurmur reiterated that Beckham told him his bruised quad feels better than it did last week. Shurmur said he's hoping Beckham will be cleared for Sunday's game, adding that he sees value in the team trying to "learn how to win again" despite being eliminated from playoff contention.

"I think what's important is that we as a team do everything we can to go out there and play the game and try to win the game," he said. "Running parallel with all the thoughts moving forward in the offseason is this team trying to learn how to win again. And again, I'm speaking as the coach, where we're doing everything in our power to put a plan together to win the game."

Beckham, who has missed out on the Pro Bowl for the second straight season, referred to the injury as a "hemamota" in a Facebook video last week. In the post, he revealed that it wasn't until Thursday's practice before a Week 14 matchup with the Redskins when he "felt something weird" happen.

Shurmur added that LB Alec Ogletree (illness), S Michael Thomas (illness in family), C Spencer Pulley (calf) and WR Russell Shepard (ankle) are not participating in Wednesday's practice. DE Kerry Wynn (thumb) is limited.
