Mets manager Mickey Callaway said on SNY Tuesday night that he wants as many relief pitchers as possible, so it should come as no surprise that they are also in on Adam Ottavino.

Per Jon Morosi of Fox Sports, the Mets and Red Sox have shown continued interest in the hard-throwing free agent right-hander.

Ottavino is also high on the Yankees' wish list, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Ottavino, 33, is coming off a breakout season in which he finished 6-4 with a 2.43 ERA (2.74 FIP) and 112 strikeouts in 77.2 innings, or a 13 K/9 ratio and did it while pitching at the hitter-friendly Coors Field with the Rockies.

The free agent reliever drew headlines on Monday when he said on MLB's Statcast podcast that he would "strike out Babe Ruth every time."

He is not the only reliever the Mets are interested in -- and also not the only one they could be fighting the Red Sox over.

The Mets also have interest in former Yankees reliever David Robertson, but the Red Sox are reportedly "heavy" on him.

SNY's Andy Martino has reported the Mets are pursuing left-handed reliever Andrew Miller, too, but he is coming off a down season filled with injuries.

Any addition to their bullpen would complement new closer, Edwin Diaz, whom the Mets acquired in their trade for Robinson Cano.

"I want as many [relievers] as possible," Callaway said on SNY's Hot Stove Winter Meetings show Tuesday night. "You can't have too much bullpen help."
