The Mets made a couple transactions before starting their series with the Indians on Tuesday night.

Rajai Davis is back with the big club, the team announced, as he was recalled with RHP Walker Lockett being sent back down to Triple-A Syracuse.

Davis played in four games with the Mets before he was sent down to Triple-A. He went 2-for-7 with a homer and three RBIs during that span. In Triple-A, he owned a .287/.334/.410 slash line with eight homers and 28 RBIs over 84 games.

With Davis coming up, the Mets now have another outfield option to work with as well as a speedy asset for pinch running situations if need be.

This move could also mean the end of Aaron Altherr, who is hitting just .138/.212/.276 in 24 games with New York. Brandon Nimmo, who is heading to Syracuse for the final step in his rehab assignment, should be activated from the IL Friday if all goes well.

Lockett hasn't been performing well with the Mets since making his debut. In 17.1 innings of work, he owns a 7.79 ERA after allowing 15 runs on 23 hits including three homers over his starts.

Finally, the Mets also DFA'd RHP Brooks Pounders, who pitched in just 7.1 innings with the team this season.
