Outfielder Rajai Davis isn't sure if he'll get a chance to play in the majors again past this weekend. At 38, he's unsure if the Mets, or any team, will want to sign him next season.

He's appeared in 27 games with the Mets this year and has had his moments, the biggest being his pinch-hit knock against the Dodgers which gave the Mets a 3-0 win two weeks ago.

Davis is hoping he's done enough to get another year in the majors in 2020.

"I'm just going to wait it out and train like I'm going to get another job next year," Davis told Newsday. "I guess we'll see what happens."

Davis is hitting at a .217 average for the Mets this year and has one home run, which came in his first at-bat with the Mets. He's spent a majority of the season with Triple-A Syracuse. While leading active major league players with 415 stolen bases in his career, Davis is still looking for his first with the Mets. He was thrown out against the Marlins attempting to steal second on Thursday.

The Mets signed Davis, who grew up a Mets fan in Connecticut, to a minor-league contract in December. If the Mets were to bring Davis back once again, it would likely be in a similar depth role for their outfield.
