Throughout the entire MLB hiatus, Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has been very vocal about wanting to get back on the field with his teammates as soon as possible.

And now that the 2020 MLB has an expected start date around July 24-26, Alonso has voiced his opinion, using one of his favorite acronyms.

"Baseball is back baby!!!! And I only have one thing to say," Alonso wrote in a tweet, and then included a gif of himself lining up the letters "LFGM".

Alonso started the "LFGM" train in August 2019. After hitting the go-ahead home run in a 5-4 win win over the Marlins, with the Mets climing back into the Wild Card standings, Alonso said those four letters directly the the fans in the crowd while being interviewed by Steve Gelbs.

There still some health and safety protocols to work out, and MLB could still implement other things like a universal DH and starting extra innings with a runner on base, but it sounds as if all players will be reporting for spring training 2.0 around July 1.

Alonso said recently on Beyond the Booth Live that he wouldn't need much time to be ready for the regular season.

"For me, conditioning-wise, I feel like I'm in outstanding shape," Alonso said. "I've been treating this entire 'mini-offseason' as spring training. The only thing I haven't done is play, but I've been facing some pitchers, getting some live ABs with whoever is willing to throw to me. I'm ready. I want to go as soon as possible. I think three weeks, for me, I'd probably be ready in 10 days, like ready to go because I want to play as many games as possible.

"For us, we want to have as much of a complete season as possible. This is a unique year for us … I think having a competitive, as close to a full season as possible, I think that would be huge."
