The Mets (84-76, 5.0 GB for second Wild Card) continue their final series of the season with the Braves (97-63, 6.0 GA in NL East) at Citi Field on Saturday at 7:10 p.m. on SNY.

The Mets enter Saturday with a 7-3 record in their last 10 games. ... Pete Alonso tied the MLB record for most home runs in a single season from a rookie with his 52nd on Friday, a number which currently leads the majors as well. ... Seth Lugo successfully recorded the final six outs against the Braves on Friday for his sixth save of the season, he has 104 strikeouts the season, a single-season career-best for Lugo. ... Brandon Nimmo has reached base safety in 38 of his 85 plate appearances since being activated from the IL and is hitting at a .274 average. ... Michael Conforto has reached base safely in nine-straight games. ... Robinson Cano returns to the lineup on Saturday after he was hit by a pitch on Thursday and left that game early, he did not play on Friday.

Who is starting for the Mets?

LHP Steven Matz (10-10 overall, 4.37 ERA) takes the mound for his final start of the year. Had the Mets still been in postseason contention, RHP Jacob deGrom would have started Saturday, per manager Mickey Callaway this week. Matz will add to his career-high 154.1 innings pitched this season. Matz has a 7-2 overall record at Citi Field this year with a 2.47 ERA. 

Who is starting for the Braves?

RHP Mike Foltynewicz (8-5 overall, 4.46 ERA) takes the mound for the Braves. He's slated to start Game 2 of Atlanta's upcoming National League Division Series. On Aug. 2, Foltynewicz held the Mets to one runs and two hits over seven innings. In his past six starts, he had a 1.19 ERA.

The Mets' final game of 2019 is on Sunday. RHP Noah Syndergaard (10-8 oveall, 4.30 ERA) takes on RHP Mike Soroka (13-4, 2.60 ERA).
