Knicks F Marcus Morris has been a hot commodity in NBA trade deadline talks, and a deal could be happening very soon with the 3 p.m. deadline approaching.

The Knicks and Clippers are close to finalizing a deal to land Morris. SNY's Ian Begley confirmed an initial report from The Athletic, saying Moe Harkless and other pieces would be going in a deal.

SNY's Ian Begley says the Knicks and Clippers have made progress on a Morris deal, which has been going on since this morning. He added that one Clippers offer to the Knicks involved a first-round pick with veteran Moe Harkless also in the deal.

Though he was speculated to be a part of a deal, Begley reported earlier that Landry Shamet wouldn't be included in any trade package.

Also, Begley confirmed the initial report from The Athletic's Shams Charania that said two young players could be heading to New York in a deal. Mfiondu Kabengele, the 27th overall pick out of Florida State in the 2019 NBA Draft, and 2019 second-rounder Terance Mann were the players mentioned.

The Lakers were also mentioned in talks for Morris, but with Kyle Kuzma reportedly off the table now, that makes it highly unlikely to go down.

With team president Steve Mills fired on Tuesday, teams were under the impression that a deal for Morris could be done. Prior to the firing, any deal for Morris had to blow away the Knicks to get done, with both sides having mutual interest in negotiating a deal in free agency this summer.

Morris has been the Knicks' best player this season, averaging a team-high 19.6 points with 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists over 43 games thus far. He's also shooting 44 percent from three-point land.
