James Harden had his way with the Knicks on Wednesday night, tying Kobe Bryant for the most points scored by an opponent at The Garden in the 114-110 win over New York. >> Box score

Things to know about Wednesday's game

1) This one was hectic toward the end of the fourth quarter. With less than one minute left, the Knicks closed the gap on the Rockets. After a three-point play from Allonzo Trier, Noah Vonleh took advantage of a Houston hiccup on an inbound play and made it 107-106 to regain the lead. But Eric Gordon would drain a deep three to make it 112-110 Rockets. After a long timeout, Vonleh gave up the ball on the inbound play and Harden hammered it home to cap his big night and a Houston win.

2) If it wasn't for a slow fourth quarter, Harden would've broken the MSG points record held by Carmelo Anthony. Instead, he missed it by one points, scoring 61 on 17-of-38 from the field with 15 rebounds, four assists and five steals as well. He had a rough night from beyond the arc, shooting 5-for-20 with Mitchell Robinson picking up a couple blocks from that range.

3) The Knicks actually owned a first-half lead when the buzzer sounded in the second quarter despite Harden starting his night with 36 points. Tim Hardaway Jr. led New York with 18 points on 5-of-8 from the field, including three three-pointers, while Allonzo Trier dropped 15 points off the bench on 6-of-10 shooting. Trier would finish the night with a career-high 31 points with 10 boards, while Hardaway had 21 total points. 

4) The turning point of the game was the ejection of head coach David Fizdale with 1:08 left in the fourth. He was livid when he received his second technical of the game, which allowed Harden to to shoot a technical free throw to go along with his two to further the Rockets lead. Without that, the Knicks' momentum slowed down a bit and the defecit would've been smaller at the end.

5) With the loss, the Knicks' losing streak moved to seven straight games.
