The Knicks released a statement earlier this week stating guards Dennis Smith Jr. and Reggie Bullock both lost close family members. It was later revealed that Smith lost his stepmother, while Bullock lost his sister, Keiosha Moore.

Bullock posted a heartbreaking response to the event on his Instagram on Thursday, in which he says, "I never felt so BROKEN in my life!" He also lost a sister back in 2014.

I never felt so BROKEN in my life! My 2 queens, my 2 that go super HARD FOR ME! Shit won't ever be the same, I wish I could've talked once last time that day. I failed as a brother to protect you from the harm of these streets. I FAILED TWICE, to be the TRUE BROTHERS KEEPER! You was watching my team go out there and fight the same night shit happen! According to ESPN's Malika Andrews, the 22-year-old Moore was fatally shot in Baltimore on Monday.

Mia Henderson, his other sister who was a transgender woman, was stabbed in 2014 -- also in Baltimore. It is because of Henderson that Bullock works as an advocate for LGBTQ rights.

"Our Knicks family is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of two of our players' close family members," team president Steve Mills said in the team's official statement for Bullock and Smith. "At times like this, we are reminded that life is bigger than basketball. Our thoughts are with them and their families."

Per SNY's Ian Begley, the Knicks plan to send team officials to both funerals.

Bullock has yet to play for the Knicks this season, as he continues to recover from surgery that repaired a herniated disc in his back.
