Knicks rookie Quentin Grimes will be re-evaluated in two weeks after undergoing tests on his right knee that showed he won't need surgery, sources confirmed to SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley.

Grimes left Friday night's game against the Miami Heat with an apparent knee injury, and the Knicks later announced that he suffered a subluxation of his right patella. Grimes felt pain after suffering the injury, but it wasn't severe.

It's unclear how long Grimes will be sidelined, as he will rest and do physical therapy before the re-evaluation.

On the first possession coming off the bench in the first quarter, Grimes looked to bang his knee against the Heat's PJ Tucker, and then fell to the floor.

Eventually, Grimes' teammates would help him to the locker room.

After the game, Tom Thibodeau had no update on Grimes' status, saying that he hadn't yet spoken to the training staff regarding the young guard.

"He’s played really well, it’s unfortunate," Thibodeau said of Grimes after the game. "He’s put a lot of work into it. Hopefully when we’re updated it’s nothing serious.”

The University of Houston product has played well during his rookie season, averaging 6.3 points and 1.9 rebounds. He's also shot an impressive 39.8 percent from the beyond the arc.

After the game, Grimes took to Twitter to give his followers an update.
