Both suffered injuries during win over Giants

It was announced by Jets head coach Adam Gase that TE Chris Herndon and G Brian Winters suffered tough injuries during the win over the Giants on Sunday. Now, it's the last game the two Jets will play this season.

The Jets announced via Twitter that both Herndon and Winters have been placed on the season-ending IR. Herndon suffered a fractured rib, while Winters re-dislocated his shoulder and may need surgery.

This is particularily tough for Herndon, who had the exact opposite sophomore campaign (or lack thereof) than his rookie season, where he proved to be a playmaker at the tight end position.

He was suspended for the first four games of the season due to a DWI from last year, and after coming back, he was suffering from a hamstring injury that kept him off the field. Then, in his first game back Sunday, he suffered another injury.

"For whatever reason, he couldn't catch a break this year," Gase said of Herndon. "I feel bad for him."

In his rookie year, Herndon was a favorite target of Sam Darnold, who saw him catch 39 of his passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns.

As for Winters, Gase didn't beat around the bush in his postgame presser on Sunday, saying, "It'll be hard for him to get back this season."

While the Jets' offensive line has been tough to watch this season, Winters was the best one of them all, according to Pro Football Focus. His 63.3 overall grade made him the top lineman heading into the Giants matchup.

To fill their roster spots, the Jets brought back CB Kyron Brown to the squad to add much-needed cornerback help. LB B.J. Bello is also back after being released last week.
