The NFL announced the AFC and NFC Pro Bowl rosters on Tuesday night, and between the Jets and Giants, New York had just one Pro Bowl player: Jets safety Jamal Adams.
The 24-year-old was named to his second Pro Bowl of his three-year NFL career, and Adams was asked about the honor on Wednesday.
"I expect it," said Adams. "That's what I work hard for, obviously. The main thing, obviously, is to be in the playoffs, but it didn't happen. But I'm very grateful to represent New York, represent this organization as a Pro Bowler, so it feels good."
Adams explained that he wasn't quite as emotional about finding out he made the Pro Bowl this year, as compared to last year. He was asked about his tweet from 2017, though, when after not making the team as a rookie, he tweeted that he would never miss another one.

To this point, he's two-for-two on that promise.
"Everybody's bringing that up. I've heard about it," Adams said. "It's just confidence, man. Like I said, I expect to be in the Pro Bowl each and every year. That's just how I wired myself. That's (one of) the goals I write down each and every year going into the season. Just got to keep working. That's all I'm going to continue to do."
An ankle injury has kept the Jets' star safety from playing in the team's last two games, but he was back on the practice field on Wednesday, and hopes he can be on the field for the final two games, which he and the rest of the team believe are extremely important.
"The past two weeks, I'm not going to lie to you, I was in a real low place, because I've never had this game taken from me, so that was tough, just sitting on the sideline, not being out there, not practicing with my brothers," Adams said. "Just to go out there and practicing today, I was like a little kid. You never take things for granted that you love and when you get those things taken away, it makes you look at it a little bit differently.
"It's two playoff games for us. We don't go out there to lose ballgames, no matter the record. I see a lot of things that people say we might as well tank, nah. To hell with that. We're going out there to win. Everybody in the building is treating these like two playoff games."
