The Jets will be short at wide receiver this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Jeff Smith was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday and will miss the Jets' Week 14 matchup against the Saints. Rookie standout receiver Elijah Moore still remains questionable with a quad injury after missing his third practice this week. Moore will test things out over the next two days in hopes that he'll be ok to go on Sunday. It should be noted that no Jet has played a game where they missed all of that week's practices.

The Jets are already without Corey Davis for the rest of the season after he suffered a core muscle injury. This leaves just five receivers on the Jets roster, which includes the aforementioned Moore, Kennan Cole, Denzel Mims, Jameson Crowder and Braxton Berrios

Stud rookie running back Michael Carter is already out with an ankle injury and now the Jets will also be without Tevin Coleman who will be sidelined this Sunday with a concussion.

Rookie corner Michael Carter II (concussion) and tight end Trevon Wesco (ankle) will miss Sunday's game, while offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is listed as questionable. He, like Moore, won't be an official practice participant but will test out his ankle leading up to Sunday.

With two running backs and possibly three receivers missing Sunday's game, it could be a good chance for Austin Walter to again be as productive as he was in the Jets' win over the Houston Texans.

But more importantly, it could mean a golden opportunity for 2020 second-round pick Mims. Mims has had a limited role all year given the crowded receiver room, and then had a bout with COVID-19.
