Jets running back Isaiah Crowell credited everyone but himself after he broke the franchise single-game rushing record in Sunday's 34-16 win over the Denver Broncos.

"I gotta give all the credit to the O-line," Crowell said, according to the New York Post's Howie Kussoy. "I can't take the credit. Really, the holes were open. Anybody could've ran through them. It just happened to be me. ... I felt like [offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates] basically committed to the run, and I feel like our O-line did their thing."

Crowell totaled a career-high 219 rushing yards on 15 carries, which according to ESPN's Rich Cimini set the NFL record for yards per carry in a game (14.6). His highlight Sunday was a 77-yard touchdown run in a 21-point second quarter that sparked New York.

"When he breaks a long one like that it inspires the offensive line," head coach Todd Bowles said. "We got the running game going a little bit, and those guys got rolling."

Crowell's long touchdown run was his longest rush since he broke off an 85-yard run on Sept. 18, 2016, as a member of the Cleveland Browns. This one was longer than his 62-yard touchdown run in Week 1 and helped spark the Jets to their second win of the season.

On first-and-10, he took the handoff from Sam Darnold, cut to the left, found a seam and then ran untouched to the end zone to tie the game at 7.

"He's quicker than you think," Bowles said. "He has very good feet. He doesn't say much, but his work ethic has been very good."

More than Crowell's touchdown run and his rushing record was the fact he didn't get penalized for a celebration. Two weeks ago, he received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after scoring a touchdown against the Browns when he appeared to wipe himself with the ball.

This time, after crossing the goal line, he tossed the ball aside and waited for his teammates to embrace him.

"Isaiah has been in the end zone before," offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum said, according to Cimini, "and he didn't want to hurt the team."

Including Bilal Powell's 99 rushing yards and Darnold's five, the Jets outran the Broncos 323-92 on Sunday. Crowell became the third Jet to record 200 rushing yards in a game, joining Thomas Jones and Hall of Famer Curtis Martin.

Said Crowell: "It means a lot to me."
