On Thursday, Jets linebacker Brandon Copeland was named the 2020 Alan Page Community Award winner by the NFLPA.
The NFL gives out this award each season to the player who does the most for the community.
Copeland was previously named the Week 16 NFLPA Community MVP after hosting holiday shopping sprees for more than 300 underprivileged kids. He received help from 11 other NFL players, surprising each kid with a $200 gift card through his Beyond The Basics foundation.
As the winner, he will receive $100,000 for his Beyond The Basics foundation.
"The power you have is monumental," Copeland said. "Please continue to do the right thing and highlight the good with your pen, and know that as players, we're working our tails off to make and impact while we have the platform."
Copeland joins past winners such as Los Angeles Rams' Andrew Whitworth (2019), Philadelphia Eagles' Chris Long (2018) and Malcolm Jenkins (2017). He is the second Jet to win this award, after running back Tony Richardson won it in 2011.
