The Jets have added more quarterback depth behind Sam Darnold.
They announced Wednesday morning that they signed QB Brandon Silvers, who had recently played for the Memphis Express of the AAF before the league shut down. Silvers had 777 yards passing, four touchdowns and one interception in three starts.
Silvers was a four-year starter at Troy University, where he last played in 2017.
He's likely just an extra body for workouts. Last month, the Jets signed Trevor Siemian to be their backup quarterback with the status of Josh McCown up in the air. The Jets also have Davis Webb under contract for next season.
