While there's speculation about who could buy the Mets, you can count superfan Jerry Seinfeld out.

"No!" Seinfeld told TMZ Sports when they bumped into him on the street in New York and asked if he'd be interested in buying the team. "The highest level of sports appreciation, particularly baseball, is a hot dog, a beer and a seat.

"There's nothing higher. That's the pinnacle ... People think that owning the team is more fun, it's actually less fun."

Recently, Alex Rodriguez confirmed reports that he's shown interest in potentially putting a group together to buy the Mets. The former Yankee said on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that "growing up I was a big Mets fan."

Although it is still unclear as to who will end up being the next owner of the Mets, the team itself seems poised to compete now and in the future with a solidified roster.
