Mets first baseman Pete Alonso has won the National League Rookie of the Month award twice this year.

Turns out, the odds are in his favor that he'll add more hardware after the season.

The Home Run Derby champion is currently the favorite at -180 odds to be named National League Rookie of the Year, according to Odds Shark.

The other rookies Alonso is competing with include Padres infielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (+250), Braves outfielder Austin Riley (+550), Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka (+550), Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (+1100) and Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds (+1100).

Yet for as talented as each may be, none have matched Alonso so far.

The 24-year-old Alonso ranks second in the majors with 30 home runs at the All-Star break and is in a tie for third place in the majors with 68 RBIs. His 1.006 OPS ranks fifth among all qualified hitters in the NL, while his 4.0 WAR ranks third.

Tatis, who missed a month due to an injury, has also sparked the Padres with his .327/.393/.620 batting line, 14 home runs and 33 RBIs. He has a 3.3 WAR in 117 fewer at-bats than Alonso. Soroka, meanwhile, is 9-1 with a 2.42 ERA and a 2.7 WAR through 15 starts this year.

One name missing from Odds Shark's list: Padres pitcher Chris Paddack (5-4, 2.84 ERA), who infamously called out Alonso for winning the NL Rookie of the Month award in April.

When the Mets and Padres played each other in May, Alonso's response to Paddack was, "If he was upset about it, I'm assuming he could have been a little jealous. ... If he was mad about that, there's five other months."

Perhaps Paddack will face Alonso again at Citi Field when the Mets and Padres meet up again July 23-25 at Citi Field. And who knows? Maybe the future Rookie of the Year will be playing.
