Giancarlo Stanton has found his way back to the Bronx again, as the Yankees have him slated in their lineup against the Angels on Wednesday.

Manager Aaron Boone noted that Stanton was on his way to join the team again, and it was possibility that he would be activated off the IL today. And not only did the Yankees activate him, but they throw him right into the mix with his start in left field and hitting fifth in the order.

Stanton has been on the 60-day IL with a PCL strain in his right knee, which came about right after he was rehabbing calf, shoulder and biceps injuries. He suffered the PCL strain in June, and it has been a slow process for him to get back fully healthy.

Now that he is back, the Yankees will hope that the slugger can stay healthy as the team approaches the postseason. There are 12 games that remain for Stanton, who can prove to the Yankees that he is ready to take on the high-pressure situations that October brings.

Stanton has only appeared in nine games this season, where he is 9-for-31 (.290) with one double and one homer along with seven RBI. In his first postseason appearance last season, Stanton didn't have the success he was looking for, going 5-for-21 (.238) with a homer and an RBI between the Wild Card Game and the ALDS against the Red Sox.

He has a chance to change those numbers this season, and it appears that's what is on the Yankees' mind as he jumps right back into the mix tonight.
