Brett Favre came away from Eli Manning's performance Monday against the Eagles with the thought that the veteran quarterback still has more left in the tank.

Manning got benched by the Giants after two games for rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, but returned to action in Week 14's 23-17 overtime loss to the Eagles, completing 15 of 30 passes (50.0 percent) for 203 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.

"I was pleased to see that," Favre said Tuesday on SiriusXM's NFL Radio, according to Tom Rock of Newsday. "I think a lot of Eli. I think his body of work speaks for itself. He's handled a lot of criticism over the years with class. He's won two Super Bowls there. Sure beat me in our championship game at our place and played outstanding really those last eight games of that season. Couldn't have played any better and capped it off with a wonderful Super Bowl win."

Favre, who knows well about playing deep into an NFL career after logging 20 years and retiring at the age of 41, believes that Manning can help another team in 2020. Favre starred with the Green Bay Packers from 1992-07 before he finished his career on the New York Jets (2008) and Minnesota Vikings (2009-10).

"I think he's still got a lot of football left in an age where they protect the quarterback the way they do and offenses are a lot more prolific," Favre said of Manning. "I think he could be huge for another team if he so chooses."

In three games, Manning is 0-3 as the Giants' starter on the 2019 season, going 71 for 119 (59.7 percent) with 759 yards and four touchdowns to two interceptions.

The 38-year-old Manning sports a 116-117 record with the Giants, who have him signed on through the end of the year before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

As the Giants build around the 2019 NFL draft's No. 6 overall pick in Jones, who is working his way back from a left ankle injury, Manning could fill the void for the final three games.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reported Wednesday that the Giants, who have not named a starter yet for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins, are "likely" to starting Manning as Jones works back.
