Most mock drafts around the country are pegging the Giants to take an offensive tackle at No. 4 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

But, according to Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, that isn't the case at all. Instead, he has the Giants "zeroing in" on Clemson LB/S Isaiah Simmons with that pick.

In the latest edition of his Stick To Football podcast, Miller said he is hearing "many NFL scouts" who believe Dave Gettleman & Co. have their eyes set on the versatile linebacker. Miller has him ranked as his fourth-best prospect in the draft, so it would be fitting.

Simmons can truly do it all on the field, having played five positions last season at outside and inside linebacker, slot corner, and both free and strong safety. His sub-4.4 40-yard dash time and 40-inch vertical leap at the NFL Combine showed all NFL scouts up close just how much of a physical freak he is.

With Ohio State DE Chase Young presumably off the board before the Giants pick, Simmons would be the next-best option if Big Blue is looking to upgrade their defense. Of course, they added Blake Martinez and Kyler Fackrell to their linebackers corps, while re-signing David Mayo as well. But as we said, Simmons can be deployed anywhere on the field, and frankly, should be a starter from day one.

Whether or not Gettleman wants to continue upgrading his defense or get a young tackle to protect Daniel Jones is the biggest question. Either pick would fill a hole.

Simmons, though, might be the defensive playmaker the Giants have been searching for.
