Yankees GM Brian Cashman is still searching for a good trade involving Sonny Gray, and they are not selling him short.

They have a few suitors in the Reds, Braves, Padres, and Mariners, according to Fancred Sports Jon Heyman. And the Yankees have already let the Reds know what they want.

Per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Yankees asked the Cincinnati Reds for top outfield prospect Taylor Tramell in exchange for the right-hander.

Trammell, 21, was selected 35th overall in the 2016 MLB draft and is considered the second-best prospect in the Reds organization, behind infielder Nick Senzel, and is ranked the No. 17 on MLB.com's Top 100 Prospects list.

The left-handed hitter played last season in High-A and posted a slash line of .277/.375/.406 with eight home runs, 41 RBI and 25 stolen bases. He was also the 2018 Futures Game MVP.

Sherman reports the Yankees are probably seeing how high they could go before settling on something low, or if they want something good in return, could potentially pair Gray with a prospect of their own.

Gray, 29, is coming off a disappointing 2018 season in which he was demoted from the starting rotation to the bullpen. He finished the season 11-9 with a 4.90 ERA (4.17 FIP) and an 8.5 K/9 ratio.

Cashman said at the Winter Meetings on Monday that 11 teams have expressed interest in Gray.

"Some have involved bigger deals, some have involved easy prospect-driven deals," Cashman said, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. "Some are Major League need-for-need type things. He's still here because we haven't found that sweet spot yet."
