Who is starting for the Mets?

RHP Jacob deGrom.

Fresh off the five-year, $137.5 million extension he signed earlier this week, deGrom will take the mound against the pitcher he beat for last season's NL Cy Young award. DeGrom had a season for the ages in 2018, posting a 1.70 ERA (1.99 FIP) and 0.91 WHIP while striking out 269 batters in 217 innings (32 starts).



Who is starting for the Nationals?

RHP Max Scherzer.

Scherzer is coming off his sixth-straight All-Star season. In 2018, Scherzer had a 2.53 ERA (2.65 FIP) and 0.91 WHIP while striking out an MLB-best 300 batters in 220.2 innings (33 starts).
