The Knicks continue to be linked to Golden State Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell as Thursday's NBA trade deadline approaches, but is there a walking away point?

SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley is reporting that some in the Knicks organization remain hesitant to part with the first-round picks that it would likely take to land Russell.

Meanwhile, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports the Knicks remain in pursuit of Russell, but that New York hasn't closed the gap on the price point.

On Tuesday, there had been some thought that Russell could be involved in a potential four-way deal that would have landed the 23-year-old All-Star in Minnesota. Those talks broke off, however, and the Nuggets replaced the Warriors in that four-team deal that took place just after midnight, highlighted by Robert Covington going to Houston and Clint Capela going to Atlanta.

Acquired by the Warriors this season via a sign-and-trade with the Nets that sent Kevin Durant to Brooklyn, Russell has averaged a career-best 23.8 points per game while shooting 38.3 from three-point range.

With Durant leaving and major injuries to Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the Warriors have struggled mightily this season, owning the NBA's worst record at 12-39. Wishing to come in under the luxury tax, the Warriors could be motivated to move Russell's contract.
