The Knicks have called the Pacers regarding the availability of PG Aaron Holiday, reports SNY's Ian Begley.

Marcus Morris was mentioned in those talks, and that came before team president Steve Mills was fired. With Mills gone, there is the belief that the Knicks are more open to dealing away Morris before Thursday's 3 p.m. NBA trade deadline.

It is unknown where those talks are at right now.

Indiana has a log jam at point guard -- much like the Knicks -- with Malcolm Brogdon and T.J. McConnell also playing at the position. However, Holiday has had more time on the floor than his rookie season, averaging 23.3 minutes compared to 12.9 last year.

And he's contributing more, too, dropping 10.2 points per game with 2.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 42.1 percent from the field. Holiday has 19 starts under his belt as well.

One would think the Knicks would have to give up at least one of their current point guards in either this trade or another to make Holiday fit. Elfrid Payton, Dennis Smith Jr. and Frank Ntilikina are vying for time at the position at the moment.
