Giants TE Evan Engram agrees with his former coach Ben McAdoo-- he's glad McAdoo came out and said he thinks that the Giants are going to win the NFC East.

McAdoo broke his public silence since being fired by the team after going 13-15 with one postseason loss in one and a half seasons. Engram, speaking at his camp in New Jersey, was glad McAdoo said what he did.

"I'm glad he said it. It's really realistic," Engram told NY Post's Zach Brazillier. "As competitors, that's the goal, to go out and win games and win as many as you can. We're not worried about last year. It's a new year. We have a really good team."

A key to the success of the team is the health of star WR Odell Beckham Jr., who is recovering from ankle surgery as he awaits a contract extension. Engram doesn't appear to be worried about his health.

"He looks really good," Engram said. "He's running all his routes, making all his breaks, making all the cuts. He's getting his confidence back. Definitely he looks like his old self."

Another player key to the team's success is QB Eli Manning. Engram is more than optimistic about his quarterback.

"We got some new additions on the [offensive] line," Engram said. "We're going to give him some more time back there. Ya'll [will] see. Eli is still Eli. It's going to be a big year for us and a big year for him."
