The Giants sent shockwaves across the NFL on Tuesday by trading Odell Beckham Jr. to the Browns for a first and third round pick, plus safety Jabrill Peppers

Here is what you need to know about the newest Giant:

1. He's coming home: Peppers was born in East Orange, NJ and attended both Don Bosco Prep and Paramus Catholic High School. He won two state championships with Don Bosco, where he played cornerback and running back and two more with Paramus Catholic.

2. He is a former linebacker: Peppers was actually a linebacker in college while playing for the University of Michigan before the Browns moved him to strong safety. He began showing strides at the new position last season, finishing with 79 tackles, an interception, five pass deflections, a sack and three fumbles recovered.

3. He's a former first-round pick: The Browns selected Peppers with the 25th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Peppers was the third safety taken in the draft following Jamal Adams and Malik Hooker

4. He can return kicks: Peppers is a punt and kick returner, too, a position the Giants rotated players in and out of all last season. Peppers returned 25 punts for 219 yards last year and 19 kicks for 408 yards but does not have any touchdowns in his two seasons in the NFL.
