The Mets (77-71, 3.0 GB in Wild Card race) wrap up their three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers (96-54, 19.5 GA in NL West) on Sunday night at 7:05 p.m.

Mets Notes

The Mets beat the Dodgers 3-0 on Saturday night thanks to a clutch hit by Rajai Davis. The 38-year-old came in to pinch hit in the eighth inning and delivered a three-run double to give the Mets their only runs of the day. Jacob deGrom threw 101 pitches over seven innings, allowing just three hits and striking out eight. Justin Wilson sealed the deal with a 1-2-3 ninth inning to get the save.

Who is starting for the Mets?

RHP Zack Wheeler (11-7, 4.21 ERA) has been great as of late, going 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA over his last three starts. Last time out, he struck out seven, walked two, and allowed just one earned run in seven innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sept. 10. It was his third-straight start allowing one earned run and no home runs...the Mets are 7-2 in Wheeler's last nine starts.

Who is starting for the Dodgers?

RHP Walker Buehler (13-3, 3.14 ERA) is coming off of an 11 strikeout performance on Sept. 10 against the Baltimore Orioles. The righty allowed just four hits over seven innings, and helped the Dodgers clinch the NL West title. He has 201 strikeouts on the year, as it's the first time in his career that he's reached 200 strikeouts in a season.

Upcoming schedule

The Mets will travel to Coors Field and start a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies. Steven Matz (10-8, 3.84 ERA) will start for the Mets, while the Rockies are yet to announce a starting pitcher. First pitch is set for 8:40 p.m.
