The Yankees and Dodgers showcased a potential World Series preview in Los Angeles over Players' Weekend, and it was New York that came away with the series victory.
However, their World Series odds managed to take a slight fall as the new week begins. According to Bovada, the Yankees' World Series odds are set at +450, which is down from +425 last week.
Before the Yankees handled the Dodgers, they did get swept surprisingly by the Athletics in three games in Oakland. The offense was stagnant and the pitching didn't make up for it, as the Yanks were outscored 17-9 in the series.
But the Yankees are still nine games ahead in the division as they head to Seattle to face the Mariners in their next series. They still hold the reins in the AL East heading into the final month of the regular season, but securing the top spot in the American League heading into the playoffs is an obvious goal.
After their West Coast swing ends on Wednesday, the Yankees will return home on Friday to begin a six-game homestand where they could swing their odds yet again.
As for the other teams atop the list, the Dodgers still sit above the Yankees in second at +275 while the Astros haven't relinquished their seat on top of the throne at +225.
