Juan Soto hit his fourth home run in two games, Aaron Judge hit his 300th home run and Austin Wells' clutch two-out hit lifted the Yankees to a 10-2 win over the White Sox in Chicago on Wednesday night.

The Yankees (72-50) remain 0.5 games ahead of the Orioles for the AL East lead.

Here are the takeaways...

-Soto did it again. In his first at-bat, Soto took a Davis Martin slider 357 feet over the right-field wall for his 34th homer of the season. To this point, Soto hit four home runs in his last five at-bats. The left-hander would finish 1-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored.

-The lineup aside from Soto was not great for most of the game. The Yankees left eight total men on base and it looked like it was going to be their downfall.

In the sixth, Soto and Judge walked to lead off the inning. But Wells lined out, which was followed by a Gleyber Torres flyout. Trent Grisham walked to load the bases but Anthony Volpe struck out to end the threat.

The game turned on its head in the seventh. After Oswaldo Cabrera singled to lead off the inning, Wednesday's starting third baseman stole second. Alex Verdugo hit a long fly ball to center field with one out but Dominic Fletcher tripped over his teammate while making the catch, allowing Cabrera to tag up and make it all the way home to tie the game at 2-2.

A Soto walk and Judge double later, Wells lined an opposite-field single to plate two and give the Yankees the 4-2 lead. Wells as a cleanup hitter is now hitting .358 with a .522 slugging percentage and is .360 with runners in scoring position.

-The Yankees would put up six runs in the eighth inning. Cabrera would plate Volpe who led off the inning with a double. Verdugo doubled home Cabrera before Soto was intentionally walked to get to Judge.

The Yankee Captain would turn on a 3-0 slider and send it over the left field wall for his 300th career home run and become the fastest player in MLB history to reach that milestone. He finished the night 2-for-4 with a walk.

Wells would follow with a solo shot to put the Yankees up 10-2. The catcher's ninth home run of the season and finished the night 3-for-5.

-Will Warren pitched much better this time out. After allowing eight runs in 4.1 innings last week, the young right-hander kept the White Sox to two runs through five innings.

His one mistake was a solo shot given up to Gavin Sheets in the second. And then in the fourth, Grisham misread a fly ball that was struck right at him from Andrew Vaughn, which resulted in a double. Sheets would follow with a single that gave the White Sox a 2-1 lead. The fly ball hit at Grisham had a 90 percent catch probability.

Otherwise, Warren kept the Yankees in the game giving them five strong innings (94 pitches/60 strikes) allowing the two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out five batters.

-In relief of Warren, the combination of Tim Hill (1.0 IP) and Michael Tonkin (3.0 IP) combined to give up just two hits.

While Soto continued to tear the cover off the ball, and Judge hit a mega-milestone, Wells' clutch hitting really turned what would have been an ugly loss into a laugher.
