Six takeaways from Wednesday's game...

1) DJ LeMahieu came into this game going 2-for-his-last-31 at the plate. Make that 2-for-32 after a strikeout in his first at-bat on the night. But that all went away when he put the Yanks on the board in the top of the sixth with an RBI double. The next inning, he hit a clutch sac fly to make it a one-run game. But his biggest hit came in the top of the ninth when he fought off a fastball to right field to score Tyler Wade to give the Yankees the lead and eventual win.

2) CC Sabathia had the chance to reach the 3,000-strikeout club tonight, but he fell three short. The big lefty had struggles with the long ball tonight, which accounted for all four of his earned runs. Overall, he allowed five on six hits with those three K's and no walks over five innings.

3) Jonathan Loaisiga was a silent catalyst in this game. Coming out of the bullpen, he gave the Yankees three scoreless innings to allow their comeback to happen. Though he has started for the Yankees in the past, there is certainly a spot for him in the bullpen if he continues to produce quality outings like these.

4) Gary Sanchez didn't have a fun first night back. He got the "Golden Sombrero" at the plate with four strikeouts in all four of his at-bats. Add in some tough foul balls that caught him in his catcher's gear, and Sanchez didn't have a warm welcome. He'll look to turn that around tomorrow.

5) Tyler Wade felt awful when a hidden ball trick by Andrelton Simmons caught the Yankees' rally short right after they tied the game in the seventh. But he made up for it with a two-out hit in the ninth, and a stolen base that allowed LeMahieu's hit to bring him home for the winning run. Wade went 2-for-3 on the night.

6) Despite all the injuries to key cogs, these Yankees have now won six straight games.
