5 things to know from Tuesday's game...

1) Gerrit Cole had a bounce-back performance in this contest after getting hit hard last time around. He allowed one run in the first, but it wasn't because the Blue Jays were making hard contact. In the end, he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while allowing only two hits. Cole's fastball was also clocking at 98 mph.

2) But Cole wasn't the only pitcher who had a solid outing. Jordan Montgomery, who is gunning for a rotation spot in camp, threw four scoreless innings with five strikeouts. The Yankees definitely love to see that from the big lefty whose curveball was working exceptionally well.

3) Kyle Higashioka mashed his third homer of the spring to deep center field for his only hit on the day. He's been playing very well, and having gotten the start in place for Gary Sanchez with Cole on the mound shows that he's the frontrunner to win the backup role out of camp.

4) Ben Heller, who is looking for a bullpen spot this season, got shelled for a two-run homer in the top of the ninth that broke the 2-2 tie. He has a 27.00 ERA in the spring.

5) The Yankees only had five hits on the day, but Miguel Andujar and DJ LeMahieu were among them.
