Five takeaways from Sunday's game...
1) J.A. Happ got the ball in this one, but he couldn't control the Astros' offense. Jose Altuve led the game off with a leadoff homer, and it went down hill from there. Happ's worst inning came in the fourth when he allowed a grand slam that opened the game for the Astros. Overall, he allowed eight runs on 11 hits including three homers.
2) DJ LeMahieu broke some team history, as his 10th homer of the season makes it 26 consecutive games the Bombers have put one over the fence. Two more games and a new MLB record will be set in that category. LeMahieu also went 3-for-4 with two runs scored as well.
3) But, other than LeMahieu's three-run shot, the Yankees were quiet against Justin Verlander. He allowed just three other hits over his seven-inning start. Of the 2-7 hitters, only Gary Sanchez had a hit.
4) Luis Cessa pitched well after Happ came out. He let up just one run on three hits over four innings of work. He also struck out four and walked one as well.
5) Aaron Judge did got 0-for-4, but one groundout brought him LeMahieu in the bottom of the eighth. He's still trying to find his way since coming off the IL.
