Six things to know about Saturday’s game

1. Even without Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, the power keeps coming. Gio Urshela went deep in the first inning to make it a 2-0 ballgame, hitting out of the cleanup spot. He went 2-for-4 on the night with those two RBI and two runs scored.

2. Clint Frazier has been on fire since he was called up from the Yankees’ Player Pool, and he had his best game so far in this one. He went 3-for-3 with a big fly, a double and five total RBI as he played a crucial part in breaking this game wide open. Frazier even made a diving catch out in right field, with his glove being a big area of improvement this offseason. Yankees must love what they see right now from the 25-year-old.

3. Gary Sanchez, stay hot kid. He’s got homers in three straight games now after going yard in the bottom of the fourth inning to take back the Yankees’ lead, 4-3.

4. Gleyber Torres is also turning things around at the dish. He had another multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

5. DJ LeMahieu had to leave this game with what the Yankees called a sprained left thumb. He was seen in considerable pain after a swing in the middle of the game. He would finish the at-bat, but Tyler Wade replaced him in the field in the sixth inning.

6. James Paxton had a dud third inning where he allowed three runs. Other than that, he was solid. His fastball flashed at 95 mph a few times throughout his five-inning outing, which is a good sign it’s getting back to where it needs to be. His location still seemed off, though, so work will need to continue to get back to his dominant self.

The rivalry series continues with J.A. Happ getting the ball against Chris Mazza, who is making the first start of his career on Sunday at 7:08 p.m. at Yankee Stadium.
