Here are six things to know from the game

1. The Yankees got 3.2 innings out of Jordan Montgomery before a rain delay ended his night. He allowed one earned run on three hits and struck out four in the outing.

2. Luke Voit crushed two home runs in this one, first hitting a two-run shot in the second inning and following it up with a solo shot in the fifth in his next at-bat.

Thairo Estrada added his own moonshot in this one, hitting a homer in the fourth. Aaron Hicks hit a home run in the seventh

3. Voit, Estrada and Hicks were the only three Yankees to pick up hits Monday night, with the rest of the team struggling mightily at the plate.

4. Miguel Andujar was part of the call-backs from the alternate site with AL MVP contenders Aaron Judge and DJ LeMahieu heading to the IL, but he wasn't any better than he was before being sent down earlier this season. Andujar went 0-3 against the Red Sox before being subbed out for Mike Tauchman, and is batting a miserable .059 so far this season.

5. Gary Sanchez continued to cool down after hitting a home run in three straight games last week, going 0-2 with two walks.

Gleyber Torres also went 0-2 as his struggles at the plate and in the field continue. Torres' move to his "more natural" position at SS instead of 2B has not gone as smoothly as many expected it to.

6. Aroldis Chapman made his first appearance this season, entering the game in the ninth to finish it off. He showed some rust early in the inning, allowing a triple followed by a double to bring in one run, but then found his footing and struck out the final two batters to end the game.

What's Next

The Yankees will continue on to a second straight division matchup, hosting the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game series starting Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Masahiro Tanaka will take the mound for New York, while Blake Snell does the same for Tampa Bay.
