The Yankees signed minor-league outfielder Quintin Berry to a contract on Monday and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the team announced.
Berry, 33, hasn't seen significant time in the majors since 2012, when he played 94 games and stole 21 bases as a member of the Detroit Tigers.
Since, Berry has appeared in 38 major-league games with the Red Sox, Orioles, Cubs and Brewers and also bounced around the Royals, Angels, Blue Jays and Twins' farm systems.
In 43 games with the Brewers' Double-A and Triple-A affiliates, he had a .216/.296/.318 batting line with two home runs, 11 RBIs and 10 stolen bases in 11 attempts.
