Add the Yankees to the long list of teams reportedly interested in Marlins catcher and potential Mets target J.T. Realmuto.

The Yankees have "showed interest" in trading for the 27-year-old All-Star, according to FanCred's Jon Heyman. The Astros and Dodgers are among other clubs who have had their eyes on Realmuto.

Derek Jeter and the Marlins appear to want Gary Sanchez in a big package that would need to include another top player from the Yankees, Heyman reported. Despite Sanchez's dismal 2018 season, that price would reportedly be too high for the Yankees.

Realmuto is one of the best hitting catchers in the majors. In 2018, his first All-Star season, he hit .277 with 21 home runs and 74 RBI with Miami.

But his days as a Marlin appear to be numbered.

Realmuto's agent, Jeff Berry, said last month that the catcher has no intention of signing an extension with Miami, going so far as to say that he will "definitely be wearing a different uniform by the start of spring training."

The righty demanded a trade out of Miami last summer, but the team failed to move him before the deadline. The Marlins have Realmuto under team control for two more years before he hits free agency, though he is eligible for arbitration this offseason and in 2020.

The Mets, who have a need for an everyday catcher, have also been linked to Realmuto. But like the Yankees, they appear to be priced out.

The Braves reported had a "strong offer on the table" for Realmuto earlier this month, but that hasn't materialized in a trade.
