It was another night Yankees LHP CC Sabathia didn't have any run support from his potent offense. However, he didn't go 7.2 innings as he did last time out.

Sabathia put himself in a jam to start out his night, as their were bases loaded following two singles and a walk. But the veteran lefty got Daniel Robinson to hit a soft liner to Gleyber Torres at second base to alleviate the danger.

The second and third innings were much more quiet as Sabathia looked to settle down. However, in the fourth, the Rays collected a couple base knocks to get the first run on the board.

Willy Adames hit an RBI single to right field to give the home team a 1-0 lead. And though the Rays still had runners on second and third with one out, Sabathia got out of another jam to keep the damaged at just the one run.

In the fifth, an unearned run came across the board, but it was Sabathia's error that caused it. After Matt Duffy's infield single, Sabathia threw the ball away at first, allowing Duffy to move up to second. Wilson Ramos would hit a single which led to C.J. Cron hitting a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Rays.

Overall, Sabathia allowed two runs, one earned on nine hits while striking out four and walking one over 5.1 innings.
