Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez homers for second consecutive game at Triple-A

Jasson Dominguez went yard again for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday night in the Yankees Triple-A affiliate's 11-5 win over the Syracuse Mets.

Dominguez, who is the Yankees' No. 1 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, went 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs. His big blast came in the fifth with Scranton up 10-3. He jumped on Max Kranick's first-pitch slider over the heart of the plate and launched it 413 feet.

It was Dominguez's seventh home run of the season with Triple-A and his second in two games.

Dominguez's big night pushes his average to .313 and his OPS to .868. This season has been a tough one for Dominguez, who has battled injuries since his September call-up last year. After undergoing elbow surgery, the 21-year-old suffered an oblique injury in June that made him miss a month.

But since he's been back, the young outfielder has done very well.

In August, Dominguez slashed .277/.330/.426 with three home runs and four doubles to go along with 11 stolen bases (on 12 attempts). Since the calendar turned to September, Dominguez has continued his hot hitting.

In four games this month, Dominguez has had at least one hit in three of them. He's gone 6-for-16 with two home runs and six RBI in September.

Dominguez wasn't the only Yankees prospect to go yard on Thursday. First baseman Ben Rice -- starting at DH -- went 1-for-2 with three walks, with his blast going 368 feet in the fourth inning to give Scranton a 7-2 lead.

Since his demotion, Rice is 2-for-9 with four walks and the home run.
