The Toe-night Show has been cancelled.
Ronald Torreyes, also known as 'Toe,' was designated for assignment on Monday by the Yankees in order to claim RHP Parker Bridwell off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.
The 5-foot-6 utility infielder was a fan favorite because of his small stature often juxtaposed next to the 6-foot-7 Aaron Judge, but also because he was an effective fill-in off the bench.
In three seasons with the Yankees, Torreyes had a slashline of .281/.374/.682 and had 29 doubles, 55 RBI and 64 runs scored.
His versatility was valuable, playing games at second base, shortstop, third base and even outfield.
The Yankees even incorporated Torreyes as part of their home run celebrations in the dugout during the 2017 season, using the infielder as a camera man in a mock interview with whomever just hit a home run.
Bridwell, 27, has appeared in just 27 MLB games and is coming off a season in which he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow to remove loose bodies from his elbow back in July.
In 21 games in 2017, he went 10-3 with a 3.64 ERA as a starting pitcher but was used out of the bullpen in four games following his surgery in 2018 -- allowing seven earned runs in five innings.
