The Yankees (103-58, 7.0 GA in AL East) wrap up the regular season with a matchup against the Rangers (77-84, 29.0 GB in AL West), in Arlington on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
Yankees notes
With 305 home runs, the Yankees enter the final day of the regular season one ahead of the Twins for the Major League lead.... Luis Severino was shaky on Saturday for the first time since returning from the injured list, walking four over three innings pitched, allowing two runs. It remains to be seen how he'll be used in October... Both have demolished the previous all-time record for homers in a season. Didi Gregorius was a bright spot in Saturday's content, contributing a three-run double late in the loss.

Who is starting for the Yankees?
RHP Chad Green (4-4, 4.24 ERA), who will serve as an opener before giving way to Masahiro Tanaka. Aaron Boone has intimated that the Yankees could be somewhat untraditional when it comes to their starting pitching in the playoffs, and this could be a preview of how they plan to use Tanaka when October baseball gets underway. This will be Green's 15th appearance has the opener this season. He threw the first two innings against Texas on Sept. 4, giving up two hits and a walk but keeping the Rangers off the scoreboard.
Who is starting for the Rangers?
RHP Lance Lynn (15-11, 3.76 ERA), who has pitched extremely well at home for the Rangers this season, where he is 9-1 with a 3.67 ERA. He faced the Yankees on Sept. 4, when he gave up three runs and five hits over five innings in a losing effort. The former Yankee pitched over 200 innings for the third time in his career this season, and comes into action on Sunday ranked fifth in the American League with 236 strikeouts.
Upcoming schedule
The Yankees will have some well-earned time off before the postseason gets underway with Game 1 of the ALDS against the Twins on Friday. Times and probable starters for the series have yet to be announced.
